Even if you push your car hard only from time to time, your engine doesn’t like overheated oil.

Yes, Mazda did include an oil-to-water heat exchanger in some markets, but don’t let that fool you. Mazda’s exchanger is designed primarily to help the oil reach operating temperature faster. Unfortunately, during aggressive driving (such as on the track), it struggles to keep oil temperatures under control.

Sure, you could use a sandwich plate, but do you really want to risk an oil leak or, worse, having it snap off while driving? The thread in the stock oil filter housing was designed to hold just the filter itself and is cut into relatively soft aluminum. Why take the risk?

We took a comprehensive approach—and honestly, we think we did it better than anyone else! We designed and manufactured an oil filter housing with ports for both an oil cooler and the factory heat exchanger. To ensure optimal operating conditions for your engine, we included a thermostat, so the oil is only cooled when necessary.

To let you monitor oil temperature and pressure, we also added two 1/8" NPT ports for aftermarket sensors and kept a 1/4" NPT thread for the stock oil pressure sensor.

Our housing is CNC-machined from 6061 aluminium and features a steel oil filter adapter, making the threads much more durable—perfect if you decide to run a larger-capacity oil filter. Plus, for added longevity and a premium look, all our housings are anodized.

We also optimized oil flow and pressure by maintaining consistent cross-sectional areas and using AN10 fittings (unlike some solutions that restrict flow with AN8). Since off-the-shelf fittings didn’t fully meet our expectations, we designed and manufactured our own.
